Most questions can be answered by looking at our Frequently Asked Questions below.
But please give us a call or email us if you would like to know more.

How safe is salt therapy?

Salt therapy is 100% natural, safe, and chemical free. It has no known associated negative side effects.

How long does a session last?

An adult session at Salt Space is 45 minutes.

Please arrive 5 minutes early so you have time to put on over-shoe covers and a hairnet …. not necessarily a good look but it ensures the environment in the room remains pristine.

Are children and babies welcome?

Yes, children and babies from 6 months are very welcome at Salt Space.

We have a designated room for children to watch TV or play with toys during their salt therapy session.

Children often respond quickly and effectively to the salt therapy, at the same time as having fun!  One adult can accompany each child free of charge.

A children’s session lasts 30 minutes.

What should I wear?

You don’t need to wear anything special, just your everyday clothes. Take a seat in one of our comfortable chairs, put your feet up, relax, and enjoy the benefits of Salt Space.

How does salt therapy work?

The diffused micro particles of salt, combined with the sterile environment, controlled temperature and humidity, create a hypo-bacterial and allergen-free environment which can help reduce inflammation in the whole respiratory tract.

As the salt is inhaled, it travels through the sinuses and respiratory system absorbing moisture, clearing mucous, cleansing and killing bacteria. It may also help to reduce levels of a natural antibody (Immunoglobulin E), which is produced when exposed to certain allergens and which binds with other cells, resulting in an allergic reaction commonly associated with Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever) or Allergic Asthma.

For skin conditions, the salt can help alleviate itching, heal cracks and reduce inflammation and it is thought it can help to improve blood microcirculation and normalise ph levels.

How many people are in a salt space room?

Our adult salt therapy room accommodates 8 people at any one time. Sit back and relax in one of our comfortable chairs and enjoy the benefits. Read a magazine or book or perhaps enjoy a little doze…?

The children’s room accommodates 5 children plus accompanying adults.

HOw many salt therapy sessions do I need?

The number of salt therapy sessions required varies from person to person.

This is because we are all unique – age, general health and specific conditions. For this reason, we cannot predict how many salt therapy sessions each person will need.

Some people will experience a benefit after one or two sessions of salt therapy, but mostly people will feel the benefit after a number of sessions.

Our staff are always on hand to discuss this with you one-to-one.

How much does salt therapy cost?

We offer a FREE introductory session at Salt Space, so why not give it a go and book a session today. (£10 deposit refunded on arrival)

Our pricing structure can be found on the Sessions and Prices page.

Dear Customers, Friends and Supporters, as you will be aware the Government has announced that most Covid guidance and legal restrictions will be lifted in England from Monday 19 July.  While this move will be welcomed by some of you, we understand that others of you will be more cautious.

We have decided, therefore, to keep all our current protocols for now, so that everyone will continue to feel safe when on our premises:

  • We will maintain the same social distancing and extra cleansing protocols in place, so a maximum of 5 people in the Adult space and one family unit in each part of the Children’s space.
  • We ask that, if you are able, you wear a mask in all areas and remove it when the session starts.
  • There is a full air exchange between sessions, as always, and sessions will be spaced further apart to allow for deeper UV cleaning between.

If you have any questions for us, please do ask.
